Funding of electromobility in France

Private purchase funding options
Depending on the list price of a vehicle, there is a grant up to 7.000 Euros for every purchase of an electric car. Moreover, there is a scrapping bonus, if buyers of used or new electric cars decide to scrap their old diesel or gasoline car. In addition, many regions offer additional bonuses up to 5.000 Euros. Hence, it is a good idea to check local funding options when considering buying an electric car.
Tax reductions and benefits
Almost all regions in France offer a full exemption on the registration tax. Two exceptions: Bretagne and Centre-Val de Loire give a 50 % discount.
There is also an exemption for company car taxes for electric vehicles. This applies to all vehicles that emit less than 60g CO2/KM.
Fundings for charging stations
If you purchase a charging station, a 300 Euros tax credit will be applied. If you own a condominium you can install a public charging point and save up to 40 % of the purchase and installation costs. Companies save up to 50 % when providing the same. For public municipal charging stations 2.160 Euros are funded.
